Why Counseling?

Confidentiality

RCC-SANE is committed to protecting your privacy. All therapy services provided by RCC-SANE are strictly confidential, and information shared during therapy is kept private in accordance with applicable confidentiality laws and professional standards.

Who We Serve

RCC-SANE provides supportive therapy services to anyone age 5 or older who has been impacted by sexual violence. Our services are available to all individuals, regardless of gender identity, race, religion, disability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, immigration status.

We serve:

  • • Survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sex trafficking
  • • Loved ones of survivors (Family, spouses or partners, etc.)
  • • Those experiencing secondary or vicarious trauma, including nurses, physicians, and first responders

You do not have to make a police report. You will not be asked about your immigration status. You do not have to make a donation.

Individual Counseling

Counseling at RCC-SANE is a collaborative process centered on your needs, strengths, and personal goals. You and your therapist work together to identify treatment goals and develop an approach that feels supportive and meaningful to you.

Our licensed providers mental health providers utilize evidence-based treatments and practices to support healing, promote resilience, and address the unique needs and experiences of each client. Treatment is individualized and provided in a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.

Group Counseling

Our therapy services include access to a variety of psychoeducational and support groups. Group offerings change from time to time and may vary based on current availability and client needs.

I felt violated, but I don't know if what happened was really a sexual violation — can I still get counseling? Absolutely. Any sort of unwanted sexual encounters or unwanted sexualized actions taken towards you are sexual violations. Counseling is a safe and supportive space to explore your feelings and reactions.

Accessing Clinical Services

Clinical Services at RCC-SANE are offered in both English and Spanish. Due to high demand, your name may be placed on an Intake Scheduling list.

Assessment

To begin therapy services, clients complete the necessary paperwork and meet with our Clinical Case Manager to discuss their situation, needs, and goals.

As part of the intake process, clients may also complete behavioral health screenings to help identify areas of support and guide appropriate treatment recommendations.

Care and Support

Our Clinical Case Manager meets with new clients address immediate needs and safety issues that often accompany trauma. Case Management is a service that is available throughout the client’s involvement in therapy services and after.

Planning

Clients will be provided with information about the services available through RCC-SANE and other community resources as appropriate.

How to Make an Appointment

Clients can call and speak to the RCC-SANE Clinical Coordinator from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday–Thursday, or Friday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. You will be asked for basic information like name, address, and phone number and will be advised on the process of completing counseling intake paperwork and scheduling an intake appointment.
