Male Survivors

RCCCNM is working to provide sexual assault services to male and male-identified victims and survivors of sexual violence.

According to a 2005 CDC study, 1 in 6 men will survive sexual violence before they are eighteen years old. However, it is estimated that only 5% of all male survivors will report and/or seek help after being assaulted.

The Rape Crisis Center is devoted and dedicated to meeting the needs of male survivors in our community by providing advocacy catered directly for men. RCCCNM has an advocate who works specifically with male victims and survivors. The Male Survivor Advocate provides confidential and discreet support to male survivors through phone calls, in-person meetings, as well as at SANE. The Male Survivor Advocate will also work with families and friends on how to best support a male survivor.

If you would like to contact the Male Survivor Advocate to talk about what has happened to you, a family member, or a friend, you can call RCCCNM’s 24/7 hotline at 505-266-7711 or at the main office at 505-266-7712. You will be connected with the Male Survivor Advocate.

You are not alone and we are here to help. Our services are for all victims and survivors, including men.
