Receptionist [Repost]

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Receptionist is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support to ensure that RCCCNM services are provided in an effective and efficient manner.

SCOPE

The Receptionist reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing office and clerical services. Failure to provide these services in an efficient and effective manner will result in disruptions in the provision of services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide office support services in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the Rape Crisis Center of Central New Mexico Main Office

Main Activities

Performs receptionist functions

Manage front desk phone and incoming/outgoing mail and visitors.

Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages.

Direct visitors to the appropriate staff member.

Receive and deliver the mail to appropriate staff mail boxes.

Open and date stamp all general correspondence.

Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies.

Respond to public inquiries.

Provide word-processing and secretarial support to all RCCCNM staff as needed

The Receptionist would normally attain the required knowledge, skills and attitudes through completion of an office procedures course combined with related experience. Equivalencies will be considered.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Light lifting of office supplies required at times. Environmental Conditions: The front office may be a very quiet area when there are no clients or vendors coming in. The receptionist will need to have ways to productively occupy time in an independent manner. Sensory Demands: Good hearing and speaking skills are required to answer the phone and to greet clients and vendors. Mental Demands: Very low stress conditions exist with the receptionist position. This can lead to boredom.
